Yes, it runs Crysis!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2019I'd like to start off with the packaging, as it contains really my only slight issue. It didn't seem the card was secured enough in between the cardboard intended to keep in place. This allowed the card to wiggle some if you flipped the box around (I could hear/feel it), and with something this pricey and sensitive, it's deserving of more security. However, it does come in an electrostatic bag and XFX did provide a nice touch with cap covers over the ports (3 DP, 1 HDMI) and the contacts that connect with the motherboard. So that made me feel a little reassured.
Now, for the card itself, well it is a behemoth. Like calculus textbook weight and thickness. But, overall I think this a beautiful card. The metal enclosure is "sharp" and the Radeon logos shining in red are great touches.
I placed this in a new build with a Ryzen 5 2600x CPU. My main goal was aiming for gaming at 4K60 and this thing delivers. To test it out and leaving it stock, I threw a few a games at it in 4K using ultra settings and yes, it runs Crysis. Crysis 2/3 and Star Wars BattleFront 2 really pushed it as temperatures and fan speed climbed, but it held steady at my goal of 60 fps for most games (drops in Crysis 3, but to be expected on ultra) and no crashes for any games I tried. As for the noise when under load, with headphones, I couldn't hear it from 2 feet away, but with them off, it sounds like I am sitting in front of my stove with the range fan on low. That's not a bother to me, but it will be for some. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet.
Though on the pricey side, I am very satisfied with the performance and believe it will suit my needs on the 4K side for years to come. I am sure I can get even more out of it with undervolting/overclocking and potential water cooling solutions down the line, but for now I have no complaints as is.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2019this is a monster graphics card that under the right conditions and with the right mods can really perform very well. I have mine under an ek waterblock running 2050mhz core/1250mhz hbm2- gpu crushes most games at 1440p without issue. truth be told if you want this level of performance and don't want to buy nvidia this is really your only option. this review is written before the launch of the rtx 2080 super but most likely the rtx 2080 super will be a better value due to a reasonable performance increase for around the same price. also this gpu is really a 1440p card not a 4k card which makes the 16gb vram kinda pointless for anything other than the massive bandwidth 4 stacks of hbm2 provide. I feel this gpu and the 2080 both aren't powerful enough for good 4k gaming. the 2080ti and rtx titan are really the only options available for 4k gaming and even those can struggle with some games to keep 60+fps. as of right now pc hardware has not kept up with games and modern resolutions. I refuse to play games at 4k 50fps the experience is very poor vs 1440p 80fps. most vulkan titles run extremely well on radeon vii rage 2 for instance I can get about the same performance with my radeon vii as you'd expect out of a 2080 ti and games like world war z the radeon vii really shines. you need to determine what your goals are before buying a card but really for good 1440p gaming you have 2 options for new purchases either radeon vii or a 2080 I have both I prefer the radeon vii it outperforms the 2080 at the same clocks. my 2080 is an msi trio it will run 2040mhz core and in most games my radeon vii at 2050mhz outperforms the 2080 and it costed less which is a plus too. be aware not every gpu will clock like mine does. for benchmarking I have o.c.ed to 2125/1275hbm so I got pretty lucky I think relative to most. mind you this is with powerplay mod's and powerlimit set to 50%. I would avoid doing this without watercooling
- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2020I bought this after it was discontinued for a bit of a discount. It was almost the same price as the 5700 XT. This card easily competes with the high end market. I mainly bought this for use with Linux and video editing. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of NVIDIA with their vender specific features like ray-tracing or physx. The good news is currently not many games support those types of features. Gaming isn't like it used to be and now most games are programed with consoles in mind. Current and future gen consoles are running on AMD based graphics. AMD runs DX12 titles great and Vulkan titles great. It easily competes with the GTX 2080 when those APIs are being used. It isn't as fast as Nvidia when it comes to DX11 based games for whatever reason. The only issues I have is that it is not as easy to overclock. You will think you have it stable and then a day or two later it will lock up in a game. It took me a very long time to finally get a stable overclock. Besides that I think it is a great card for OpenCL based applications and it runs any game I throw at it. I wouldn't say it is a fully capable 4k card, but it will play most games maxed at 4k and if it doesn't I have yet to find a game that doesn't run slow at max settings at 2k resolution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful FP64, HBM GPU
Overall an excellent GPU at a good price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and solid
Very solid. Worth the money. Very powerfull. CS GO on max - any problems. Using it also for work - AutoCad, Tekla, Open GL Engineering Soft.
The main advantage that it can be used for games and professional software, drivers are opened and free. Compare that to Nvidia who want you pay for the drivers only...In my case I need to buy 2 different Nvidia Cards: Pro and gaming card or one from AMD. And it has new interface with higher bus speed. I have 2 xeon processors on my work station with 128 GB ECC ram and that videocard just do the job perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gaming für das MacBook

5.0 out of 5 stars VRAM

5.0 out of 5 stars Speed demon for applications and games
Mainly bought this for work with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. It's freaky fast when converting my Fujifilm .RAF files .DNG with Lightroom's new Enhance Details feature. My system went from 1 to 2 minutes per image to a several seconds.
Additionally, I sometimes play Cities: Skylines, and this card's 16 GB VRAM are incredible at high resolution rendering of large cities without so much as a hiccup.
