- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2018Color: Wired Multicolored Keys (Pack of 2)Verified PurchaseThis product was mostly good, but there were a few issues. The plastic on the casing felt a little bit cheap, and some of the buttons felt loose. The D-pad was a little bit imprecise. It isn't too terrible for 11 bucks, but I think I would recommend going for a different model.
EDIT:
This company has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. They reached out to me and offered to sent a new set of the newer model of controllers that solve the issues I had been having. I received them, and they work great. at first, I did have trouble getting one of the buttons to register on steam games (the right shoulder), but this was an issue with my the games I was testing, and not with the controllers themselves. They worked absolutely perfectly with emulation, which is the main reason I got them in the first place, so it's all good. These controllers work great, and the company selling them is even better.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2018Color: Wired Multicolored Keys (Pack of 2)Verified PurchaseI bought these controllers for a RetroPie setup and I have been pleasantly surprised so far. The controllers that I'm replacing are some old iBuffalo controllers that were having button sticking issues and I got tired of having so many buttons (they were newer gen, ergonomically designed controllers) and decided to go for a more retro feel. These had an average 4* review and were only $12, so I decided to grab one. The other controllers I had for the setup were ~$20 apiece and when I saw these I figured $12 for one is a great deal. I obviously wasn't paying particularly close attention, because I only realized the next day when I was checking on shipping times that I had ordered a pair for $12. I haven't used an SNES classic controller in a long time, but from what I remember these seem to be a pretty good approximation. I haven't had any issues with buttons, mapping was a piece of cake in RetroPIe, both controllers mapped consistently and thus far are performing flawlessly. The only flaw is how short the cable is. The official description is 150cm, or about 5', but we already had USB extension cables for the other controllers, so this isn't much of an issue. If you consider that extension cables are $6 a pop for 3 meters, that means each of these controllers would cost you $12 if you included extension cables, which really isn't a bad deal at all. Definitely worth the purchase - I plan on buying a few more to have as backups.
edit: originally stated controllers were $10, but they were actually $12. corrected for this mistake
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2018Color: Wired Multicolored Keys (Pack of 2)Verified PurchaseRevised Review:
The company reached out to me to say the controllers should both work with my systems, so they sent out replacements. After testing, they do work with RetroPi on SNES games (and N64 games, haven't tested other types). The buttons don't show any sign of wear so far, and the cables seem to be holding up nicely as well. The D-pad is not 100% like an SNES controller, but I only notice in games like Street Fighter II. Not a big deal for me, I'd rather play Mario RPG or Harvest Moon. Works fine in Super Mario World.
Shoulder buttons are similarly *almost* great. Feel isn't the same, more travel, and sometimes I miss the actuation. I'll get used to it, and it's not a failure point.
On OpenEMU they work the same as RetroPi. On STEAM (for mac) they do not work at all (0% functionality) and do not show up in the "controllers" tab under settings. I'm ok with this, but took a star off. I'm sure these controllers are not faulty, since they work so well with the SNES emulators. They are advertised to work with Mac, and they do (OpenEMU) and are not labeled for Steam, but the company told me in an email that they should definitely work 100% with Steam. Maybe on Windows they do, but not on mac with the current updated version of Steam. I have a generic 360 controller (usb) that works with Steam on Mac, so I figured it should all be the same USB HID thing going on, but apparently it's not quite the same? I don't know enough about these things to say, but it's not working there. They will stay with with Raspberry Pi in the kids room for now.
____________________________________
(one star review) One controller works with RetroPi. Other controller does not work at all. The one (functioning) controller does *not* work with macOS (OpenEMU) except for the L/R shoulder buttons. When I try to map the controller, it shows up as a generic USB controller, but the D-pad and A/B/X/Y buttons do not register.
In Steam (for Mac), the L/R and Start/Select buttons register in controller mapping, but again, d-pad and A/B/X/Y do not.
Quality control seems low for a product with such high reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, amazing support, really authentic feel!
Color: Wired Multicolored Keys (Pack of 2)Verified PurchaseBest retro controller I've ever used. These feel like I remember a SNES controller feeling, right down to the button push feel. Had an issue with one controller on my first order, the mfg quickly sent me another pack when I explained what was wrong with the first. (the dpad only registered left and up)... just a wiring/pcb issue I'm sure, but they took care of it quickly and to my satisfaction!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great device and even better value
Color: GrayVerified PurchaseBought this for my C64 mini retro gaming consol. Works great as a joystick replacement and totally beats the $49 price of the actual joystick and you get two for the price of one. Very good value

1.0 out of 5 stars does not work on an Mac M1
Color: Purple/GrayVerified PurchaseSays it will work on mac with a driver but there is no driver for this controller. Disappointed and I feel the seller should take Mac compatibility out of the description unless they can offer a driver that would make it work.
